Commercial Skip Viewer issue & 2 other feature requests

TheMayor
Hi Everyone,

I've noticed if I have the Commercial Skip view enabled in the extras, if I'm watching a hour or longer recording, that sometimes when the show skips, the "time bar", & clock on the right top will stay on the screen & the MC will not respond to any remote commands.  The show will play fine with no issues, but I end up having to restart MC to use it again with the remote (responds fine, if using the XB controller).

If I turn off the commercial skip viewer in the extras, then there is no issue.  Is there something else that I can change to fix this, as I would like to be able to see where it's going to skip.

The 2 requests are:

1)  Something that will automatically restart the RTVHD service every X amount of hours.  Since the build up of unidentified shows seems to clear itself after a service restart

2)  Being able to watch shows on the unidentified list.  The idea being have it display the folder name & then maybe the file name (like under "videos" section)

Thanks

TheMayor,

Regarding your two requests:

1.  The service bounce may never get built into RTVHD, but you could create a batch file that stops and restarts the RTVHD service and then add it to Scheduled Tasks to run every six hours.  The batch file could be as simple as this (which I use as a button on my toolbar to kick RTVHD whenever I see it isn't adding new shows):

net stop RecordedTVHDService
net start RecordedTVHDService

2.  You can watch recordings on the Unidentified list.  In Settings inside RTVHD, go to "Menu Strip, Recycle Bin & Other Options".  Then go to "Header Choices On Top".  Then go to "Main View Header Choices".  Enable "Unidentified", Save, back all the way out, and you should have a main header option of Unidentified that'll allow you to watch those recordings.  Since the recordings are unidentified, they won't yet be associated with a TV show or anything, but at least you can see what has built up and play them.
