Bug - Series overrides - Possibly due to special characters in series\show name

rex.withers
I'm seeing a bug in the series overrides function possibly due to special characters in series\show name. the news records as "Seven news *Live*" without the quotes and when I try to assign a custom background etc. it crashes. Same with "Movie: Sueno (2005)" presumably the colon doesn't work.

"Being Human (Season Finale)" works fine (brackets but no colon?).

It gives some long debug message after crash let me know if you need this.

Thanks

Just to help you out I had a look at the file for "Movie: Sueno (2005)", removed the colon in the file properties, renamed the file so it would re-detect as a new show restarted the service but same situation, crash. Perhaps my assumption was incorrect? or perhaps some legacy info remains that's conflicting? The show is now listing as "Movie Sueno (2005)" (no colon).

Let me know if I can be more help

What is the error message? At least the first part? Or you can take a screenshot and use the "Insert Image" button when posting.

I thought I had it set to still work with special characters, but it is possible I might have missed something. It might be something completely different.

What happens if you try another image file?  One that you know works... I'm wondering if the image has strange formatting in it or something.

I've got it and I see the problem.  I should have it fixed within a day or 2 depending on how busy I am.

Thanks for letting me know about the problem.

I just uploaded a new beta version that should fix your problem and prevent it from happening again.... After installing give it a minute to go through your database and remove the illegal characters.  It will only remove them from the MCID and will keep them as intended in the series name.

Please try this and let me know:

Yes that’s fixed it all OK, now it's also pulling down some automatically that were failing before as well. Thanks very much.
